The 2015 Scream Zone Breaks All-Time Records

Released: November 02, 2015

Spine Tingling. Mind Blowing. Riveting. Gripping.

Nervous tremors abound, the revamped, redesigned and thrillingly original 2015 Scream Zone delivered shattering records with "monstrous" numbers.

The Scream Zone, held at the Del Mar "Scaregrounds," closed its haunted hollows long after midnight on Sunday, November 1, wrapping up the highest year for attendance and highest year for revenue in its Halloween history.

This year the all-new Scream Zone proved to be the most horrific and hideous haunted attraction to date, and the four frightfully festering and vile vectors were NOT for the frail. The HOUSE OF HORROR; KARNEVIL’S Fatal Freak Show; THE HAUNTED HAYRIDE and PAINTBALL APOCALYPSE: A NIGHTMARE ON CLOWN STREET, defied, jeered, sneered, taunted and provoked 35,883 brave individuals who dared to enter the haunted sphere known as The Scream Zone.

For the first time, exactly 1,000 never made it. The largest number ever of helpless, hopeless doomed souls were “Victims” of the House of Horror, narrowly making an escape before the House could envelope them in the shroud of darkness, forever. The Scream Zone team of more than 200 helped make this happen, utilizing more than 20 gallons of liquid make-up, half of which was blood.

The Scream Zone “Grand Finale” took place on Sunday, November 1 by celebrating eternal internment, paying tribute to “Dia De Los Muertos.” The House of Horror and The Haunted Hayride featured colorful altars and scenery on All Saints Day. Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is celebrated across Latin America honoring dearly departed family and friends, and was a welcomed breath of momentary relief within the haunted realm.

An Interesting Fact
More than 100 military men and women from the 32nd Street Naval Station, NAS North Island, and Camp Pendleton worked on rotation throughout The Scream Zone season.

But alas, all ghastly things must come to an end. The hour of dread has passed and once again the dilapidated doors of the darkest of chambers are now sealed shut. All deities of darkness have returned to their ultimate place of rest…all is peaceful…for now. Until next season, we at the Del Mar “Scaregrounds” wish one and all, Haunting Holidays and Unpleasant Dreams!
