Exciting and Free! Del Mar Arena offers tons of fun

Best Dance Crew, Asian Festival, Western Shooting Competition, Demolition Derby, Terracross Racing, Antique Car and Tuff Truck Racing and Monster Trucks



Del Mar, CA (June 11, 2016) –On Sunday, June 12 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the Del Mar Arena, one of the biggest competitions of the Fair season – Best Dance Crew – will bring professional and amateur dance groups of five or more to showcase their skills. This will be a great FREE show with Fair admission for all ages to watch as dancers are judged on their technical skills, showmanship, creativity, rhythm and costume. Hip Hop International will provide the winning crew with free registration to the USA Hip Hop Dance Championship.

There definitely will be more than just horses in The Del Mar Arena at the 2016 San Diego County Fair, presented by Albertsons│Vons. This venue offers FREE daily entertainment with Fair admission way beyond the traditional horse show such as the dance competition, numerous motorized competitions, a cowboy shooting competition and an Asian Festival.

June 12 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., the 2nd Annual Asian Festival celebrates Asian and Pacific Islander cultures with music, dance and martial arts performances. Fashion and community-based organizations representing China, Philippines, Korea, Japan, Hawai’i and Vietnam will be present.
June 15 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., The Del Mar Classic Horse Show gives fair visitors the chance to watch some of our region’s best hunter/jumper equestrians compete in comformation and jumping events.
June 21 and 22 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Mounted Shooting Western Competition turns the Del Mar Arena into a scene of Western Realism and traditional Americana. The Roy Rogers Rangers Mounted Shooting Club of San Diego County produces this fast, timed sport which requires a high level of riding skill for both cowboys and cowgirls!
June 23 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., the Demolition Derby smashes drivers together who crash into each other until only one car is left.
June 24-25 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Terracross Championship Racing shows off a short, rugged course made only for the toughest, roughest and muddiest off-road enthusiast.
June 25 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., members of the Horseless Carriage Club and Model T Club will compete in the Antique Car Races. Go back in time and watch these historic automobiles navigate a course to win the prize.
June 26 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., the Vintage Moto X Racing and FMX Demo will have exciting racing demos.
June 28 and 29 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., Tuff Truck Racing introduces professional drivers to compete against the clock in Tuff Truck Open Class Racing.
June 30 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., Beach Buggy Racing and Street Class Tuff Truck Racing features beach buggies and Street Class Tuff Trucks navigating jumps and bumps to complete the course in the shortest time.
July 1-4 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., Monster Trucks, Mini Dwarfs and Jr. Outlaw Sprints closes the Fair with a series of contests and demonstrations all about Monster vehicles.

“Mad About the Fair” is the theme for the 2016 San Diego County Fair, presented by Albertsons|Vons which will run through Monday, July 4th. The Fair will be closed Mondays (except July 4th) and the first two Tuesdays.

Let the COASTER be your designated driver to the Fair! The $17 : Fair Tripper ticket includes Fair admission and round-trip transportation using the North County Transit District’s COASTER, SPRINTER, and BREEZE. A valid NCTD, Amtrak or Compass Pass is required to ride the free shuttle to the Fairgrounds from the Solana Beach Train Station.

It’s party time at the Fair and the fun starts when you hit the road! Avoid the hassles of driving and limited parking. There are many alternate ways to get to the 2016 San Diego County Fair.
