DEL MAR, CA (June 30, 2016) - There’s no better place to celebrate America’s Birthday and Old Glory than at the San Diego County Fair, presented by Albertsons|Vons. America’s Independence Day will be celebrated throughout the Fairgrounds ALL DAY LONG on Monday, July 4th featuring guest speakers, exhibits, entertainment, the Hometown Heroes Parade and The Most Patriotic Costume Contest where everyone young and old is invited to show off their Red, White and Blue Spirit!

Night activities begin at 7:30PM, with a presentation by World Memorial Guest Speakers Joe Torrillo, Tommy Fenech and Jack Delany who will take to the grandstand and share their personal experience and stories at Ground Zero during and after the 9/11 attack. All three men were in the thick of it on that fateful day. At 8:00PM the Special Edition Orchestra will commemorate the 70th anniversary of Glenn Miller and his wartime overseas orchestra featuring selections from the 1944 military band library. Patriotic songs such “America,” “St. Louis Blues,” “Stars and Stripes Forever,” “Rhapsody in Blue,” and “God Bless America” will warm up the crowd for the biggest and best fireworks display in all of San Diego County.
