The Scream Zone at the Del Mar “Scaregrounds” is hiring

Released: August 23, 2016

News photo DEL MAR, CA -- (August 23, 2016) – Do you have experience wielding a chainsaw while wearing costume make-up? How about a passion for frightening people, especially during October? Do you have a blood-curdling scream that scares everyone you know? How about experience driving a tractor in the dead of the night while ghouls and goblins climb all over you? Can you swallow a sword or breathe fire? Are you double-jointed?

San Diego County’s largest haunted attraction, The Scream Zone at the Del Mar “Scaregrounds” is looking for theater, dance and sports enthusiasts who are excited about Halloween and everything scary to be part of the monster and zombie team at this year’s event. Auditions for The Scream Zone actors 18 years and older can be scheduled by applying at www.www.thescreamzone.com.

The Scream Zone returns for its 18th year on September 30, 2016 to the Del Mar Fairgrounds. For 24 select days of terror, the event will horrify and mortify thousands of curious onlookers within the featured dark and monstrous attractions.

THE HOUSE OF HORROR features room after room of frightening and surprising visual and visceral experiences. Imagine being trapped and moved by a bevy of clowns or shaken, rattled and upended so that you don’t know where or who you are within utter darkness!

KARNEVIL is everything carnival and freak show, beginning with the scariest trailer park and a death spiral that leaves visitors disoriented and terrified.

THE HAUNTED HAYRIDE piles visitors into a wagon who very quickly become unsure of their return. Ride through the darkness terrified and filled with hallucinations, zombies and other creatures of the night.

Parents are welcome to enter The Scream Zone compound and wait for children. (Not recommended for children under 10 years old.) Our parent lounge is free and there are lots of things for you to do and see, including great food vendors and adult beverages.
