During The 2016 Scream Zone at the Del Mar “Scaregrounds”

DEL MAR, Ca. ( September 21, 2016) This Halloween season, will you be ready for a Zombie Apocalypse? What about your friends and neighbors? Will you be the Zombie survivor in your neighborhood? Join us at The 2016 Scream Zone at the Del Mar “Scaregrounds” for the first Zombie Boot Camp, a basic training course for Zombie survivalists. Survival groups will face multiple obstacles and challenges as they attempt to survive a zombie outbreak and preserve the future of civilization while being chased by the living dead. Will you make it?

Zombie Boot Camp is so spine-chilling that you must be at least 18 years old and will be required to sign a liability waiver and must present a valid ID before entering.

Participants will be running, crawling and getting dirty so athletic attire and footwear are encouraged.

This new haunt becomes the fourth hair-raising attraction to offer fear-provoking and unexplained experiences at the Del Mar “Scaregrounds.” The 2016 Scream Zone runs for 24 select days from September 30-October 31 and is the only event of its kind in the greater San Diego area.

Also new this year to The Scream Zone is a wicked VIP experience created for those who cannot be intimidated, terrified or frightened by ghouls, bloodcurdling screams or the Grim Reaper. The VIP package offers two visits through all three Haunts in one night; a fast pass to the House of Horror and the Haunted Hayride; and a two-drink coupon for adult or non-alcoholic beverages. Zombie Boot Camp is not included in the $75 VIP package but is offered at a $5 discount with the VIP package.

The Scream Zone Haunts include: THE HOUSE OF HORROR featuring room after room of frightening and surprising visual and visceral experiences. Imagine being trapped and moved by a bevy of clowns or shaken, rattled and upended so that you don’t know where or who you are within utter darkness! KARNEVIL is everything carnival and freak show, including the weird and surreal trailer park of clowns and a death spiral that leaves visitors disoriented and terrified. THE HAUNTED HAYRIDE piles visitors into a wagon with an unknown destination. Ride through the darkness terrified and filled with hallucinations, zombies and other creatures of the night.

Parents are welcome to enter The Scream Zone compound and wait for their daring kids. (The Scream Zone is not recommended for children under 10 years old.) The parent lounge is free and there are lots of things for adults to enjoy -- including food concessionaires, vendors and adult beverages.
