Del Mar National Horse Show wraps up with Hunter/Jumper Week

DEL MAR, Calif. (April 29, 2019) – The Del Mar National Horse Show culminates with the exciting Hunter/Jumper Week April 30-May 5 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Hunter/Jumper Week is now designated an FEI rated CSI 3* event.

Hunter/Jumper Week offers a breadth of classes for both disciplines. This exciting final week of competition also features the prestigious North American Junior Young Rider Championship Selection Trial, a leading competition under International Federation for Equestrian Sports rules, which allows top young riders to test their skills against other top juniors. There is also a full schedule of prestigious hunter and equitation events offered.

The $35,700 Surfside Grand Prix Qualifier FEI at 1 p.m. May 2 will host as many as 100 horse and rider duos who will compete to qualify for one of the 35 coveted spots in the prestigious $100,000 Grand Prix of Del Mar FEI presented by EQ International Real Estate, featuring the Land Rover of San Diego Ride and Drive at 6:45 p.m. May 4. Filled with exciting speed and agility, the Grand Prix will entertain a standing-room-only crowd of enthusiastic fans cheering on their favorite athletes. The finest horses and riders in the world always rise to the occasion and thrill spectators replica watches with the best the sport has to offer in this event.

The 74th annual Del Mar National Horse Show kicked off its three-week run on April 16. The iconic horse show brings together many of the most accomplished, athletic and revered horse and rider teams to compete for coveted trophies. Nearly 1,500 horses from various countries have been competing in the three-week show for more than $300,000 in cash and prizes.

Much of the Del Mar National Horse Show is free for spectators except for the $100,000 Grand Prix of Del Mar FEI, presented by EQ International Real Estate, which requires paid admission. For the Saturday evening event, guests are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy live music, dine at a variety of food concessionaires and shop among vendors selling unique equestrian merchandise including art, clothing, books, jewelry and more. Explore the Meet the Breeds Expo, a fun interactive exhibit open from 5-6:45 p.m. May 4. Whether you grew up in the equestrian arena or have simply dreamed about owning or riding a horse, the Meet the Breeds Expo offers a fun chance to sit in different types of saddles and get an up-close and personal view of different breeds of horses.
