The Triple “THREAT” for Half Price!
The Scream Zone, San Diego County’s largest haunted experience, opens Friday, September 27 at the Del Mar Scaregrounds. ON OPENING NIGHT the Triple Haunt combo is ONLY $15! That’s three times the thrills for half price available opening night only. Our three haunts, The House of Horror, The Chamber and The Haunted Hayride will chill you to the bone. (Not recommended for children under 10 years old.) NEW THIS YEAR: The Zombie Paintball Safari. Climb aboard the carriage of no return and shoot paintballs at real “live” ZOMBIES!
It’s 2013 and your worst nightmare has come to fruition. The Scream Zone, now in its 16th year, is more terrifying and bloodcurdling than ever!
“High Anxiety” fills the air as you enter the malicious mausoleum known as The House of Horror, featuring 12 new terrifying devious dens, including 13 Ghosts, Zombie House, Monster Attack, Texas Graveyard and the Underworld. The House of Horror is legendary as it has gained a daunting reputation for being the most terrifying haunted house in Southern California. Menacing, maniacal monsters lurk in the ominous darkness and live to terrify and petrify all who dare to attempt to make it through the House without screaming and scampering for the nearest exit. Come to the House and be our guest. Do not be intimidated, your horrible hosts are dying to escort you through a “tour of terror.”
“Scaring our guests is what our actors live for. Most of them return to The Scream Zone year after year and have been scaring folks for 9 years” stated Jennifer Struever, Actor Coordinator for The Scream Zone. “Every night our actors have a competition between themselves to see how many they can terrorize by compelling our guests to cry, run out of the house screaming or, and I’m not kidding, pee in their pants” added Struever. Every evening, a “Ghoul of the Night Award” is presented to one actor from each of the Triple Haunt events, and at the end of the Scream Zone run, the “Ghoul of the Year” plaque is awarded to the actor for all around best performance and most horrific and monstrous scares of the season.
Last year, 523 poor souls became “victims” of The House of Horror, running out of the haunt before making it to the bitter end. Accommodations are available and with heaps of headstones obtainable…will YOU become another cryptic casualty this year? It’s to die for!
