is a British rock band formed in Bradford in 1983. They were initially known as Death Cult before shortening their name to The Cult in 1984. They are known for their blend of goth rock, post-punk, hard rock, and heavy metal, evolving from a goth band into a stadium-filling hard rock act. The band released 11 studio albums, with their latest being
Under the Midnight Sun
in 2022. Some of their well-known songs include "She Sells Sanctuary," "Love Removal Machine," and "Fire Woman".
