Tahliah Debrett Barnett, known professionally as FKA twigs, is an award-winning British singer-songwriter, producer, dancer, and actress renowned for her genre-bending "avant-pop" sound and intricate visual artistry. In 2026, she reached a career milestone by winning the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album for her third studio album, Eusexua.

Before her solo debut, she was a prolific backup dancer for stars like Jessie J, Ed Sheeran, and Kylie Minogue. Originally known simply as "twigs" due to the way her joints crack, she added "FKA" (which she states stands for nothing in particular, though often interpreted as "Formerly Known As") following a trademark dispute with another band.

Her work is characterized by a "genre-defying" blend of R&B, electronic, trip-hop, and industrial influences. After self-releasing EP1 (2012), she signed with Young Turks and released the critically acclaimed debut album LP1 (2014), which earned a Mercury Prize nomination. Following a four-year break and surgery to remove uterine fibroids, she released her second album, Magdalene, which was widely hailed as one of the best albums of 2019.

After the club-focused mixtape Caprisongs (2022), she released Eusexua (2025) and its companion piece Eusexua Afterglow, leading to her first Grammy win in early 2026. Beyond music, twigs is a self-taught director and accomplished actress. Her notable credits include Starring roles in Honey Boy (2019) and as Shelly Webster in the 2024 reboot of The Crow.

She directed and choreographed Soundtrack 7, a seven-day residency at the Manchester International Festival, and has collaborated on high-fashion performances for brands like Valentino.
