Donald Mosier was first appointed to the 22nd District Agricultural Association Board of Directors in 2018.
Mosier, who earned an M.D. and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, holds the title of Professor Emeritus at the Department of Immunology & Microbial Science at the Scripps Research Institute. He has previously held teaching and research positions at distinguished institutions in San Diego, Boston, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, the Washington, D.C. area, and the United Kingdom. Mosier also worked as the Executive Director and Trustee of the La Jolla Foundation for Microbicide Research. He has written and worked extensively on immunology and climate issues. As an author, he has written 133 primary peer-reviewed journal articles and served as an advisor and consultant for dozens of medical institutions and advisory panels.
From 2008-2016, Mosier served on the Del Mar City Council, including a term as mayor from 2010-2011. In that role, he served on the Board of Directors of the North County Transit District 2012-2016, on SANDAG’s Regional Planning Committee, and as a member of the San Dieguito River Park Joint Powers Authority’s Board of Directors, including as its chairman.
