Sam Nejabat, a businessman and former public servant, was first appointed to the 22nd District Agricultural Association Board of Directors in 2019.

Nejabat, who earned a bachelor’s degree and law degree at University of California, Berkeley, was the Assistant Deputy Director of External Affairs at the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development, where he served from 2020-2023. He was then appointed as Senior Advisor to the Attorney General of California at the California Department of Justice from 2023-2024. He has since returned to the private sector as president of SJN Properties.

Nejabat, who also has a Master of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from Dartmouth College, also serves as a Trustee to the California State University as well as Director at the San Diego Convention Center Corporation.
