Ted Miyahara, a real estate and affordable housing leader, was appointed to the 22nd District Agricultural Association Board of Directors in March 2026.
Miyahara is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the San Diego Community Housing Corporation, where he oversees housing production, strategic initiatives, and efforts to expand access to affordable housing across San Diego County. Since 2018, he has led the organization through significant growth, overseeing the development of affordable housing communities and securing resources to support housing for low-income residents.
Over the course of his career, Miyahara has led development and capital efforts totaling more than $1 billion, supporting the creation and preservation of thousands of affordable housing units. He brings deep expertise in affordable housing development, with experience spanning the public and nonprofit sectors, including real estate development, real estate finance, and asset management.
Prior to joining the San Diego Community Housing Corporation, Miyahara served as Vice President of Multifamily Housing at the San Diego Housing Commission, where he oversaw affordable housing lending, tax-exempt bond program, portfolio management, and the agency’s first-time homebuyer program.
Miyahara has extensive experience working with local, state, and federal agencies to advance housing and economic development initiatives. He currently serves on the City of San Diego Planning Commission and has provided board service as a member of the Board of Directors of the Asian Business Association of San Diego and the San Diego Housing Federation.
Miyahara earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from San Jose State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Redlands.
